Kevin Mansmann

Kevin Mansmann, M.D.

FOUNDER, CHIEF MEDICAL OFFICER, & INTERIM CEO

Dr. Mansmann is a specialist in Arthroplasty (Total Joint Replacement) and Arthroscopy. His practice, based out of Paoli, Pennsylvania, consists of 85% joint-related surgeries of the Shoulder, Hip & Knee. He is a graduate of the Harvard Combined Orthopaedic Residency and Fellowship in Total Joint Replacements, with a specialization in joint trauma. A former US Ski Team Physician for 15 years, Dr. Mansmann has treated “Aging Athletes” for 30, all while researching Therapeutic Solutions for the Early Osteoarthritis Treatment Gap.

With 20 years of research under his belt, Dr. Mansmann and his team at Formae have honed in on an early treatment solution for Osteoarthritis. He is Founder, CMO & Interim CEO of Formae, Inc., and Founder & Director of the Arthro Alliance, LLC.

Ed Graham is a seasoned expert in Additive Manufacturing (AM) with 28 years of experience. He holds degrees in mechanical and plastics engineering from Penn State. Ed spent over a decade at Formae working with CyborGel and five years as VP at ProtoCAM, now part of Prototek, where he advanced AM capabilities.

Ed’s expertise includes 3D printing, materials science, and process optimization. Ed has established key partnerships, enhancing product offerings and operational efficiency. A strategic visionary, he drives innovation to meet evolving client needs. Ed regularly speaks at industry conferences, won AMUG’s Dino award in 2020, and serves on their board. He also collaborates with educational institutions to promote advanced manufacturing technologies.

Tom Coffey

CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER

Tom Coffey is an experienced board member with a strong background in both public and private companies. He has served on the boards of GoodWest Industries, X-Nav Technologies, and Westmoreland Coal Company, where he chaired the audit committee and contributed to compensation, benefits, and corporate governance. Currently based in Malvern, Pennsylvania, Tom is a board member at GoodWest Industries and a former managing director at Philly CFO.

Tom holds credentials from The Wharton School and possesses expertise in corporate finance, cash flow, strategy, and financial analysis. Tom’s dynamic approach and comprehensive skill set have made him a valuable asset to Formae.

Pratik Chapagain is a biomedical engineer with specialized expertise in Additive Manufacturing (AM) and full-cycle medical device development. He holds his Bachelor's and Master's degree in Biomedical Engineering from Drexel University, where he focused on composite AM, workflow optimization, and regulatory compliance of medical devices. With experience across both the pharmaceutical and medical device sectors, he brings dual-industry perspective on complex product development lifecycles.

Pratik serves as the Lead Project Manager at Formae driving the timely execution of clinical and technical milestones with operational precision and strategic delivery.

Wayne Ainscough is a finance executive with extensive international experience in the UK, US, Swiss, and start-up organizations. He currently serves as a board member at Formae and has previously been a board member and consulting CFO at Rock Deformation Research. Wayne’s career spans the bio-pharmaceutical, specialist engineering, aerospace, and defense sectors, where he has successfully acquired, consolidated, and grown businesses. He has a strong grasp of world-class manufacturing processes within multi-site international organizations. Wayne holds an MBA from Derbyshire Business School, is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants since 1991, and attended Harvard Business School’s Finance Excellence program in 2009.

Dr. Steve Kurtz is a seasoned expert in biomedical engineering, currently serving as Principal of Gyroid, LLC, and as Director of the Implant Research Core and part-time Research Professor at Drexel University’s School of Biomedical Engineering, Science, and Health Systems. Formerly a Principal at Exponent, Inc., Dr. Kurtz specializes in the additive manufacturing of medical devices, focusing on orthopedic, spine, and trauma implants.

With 27 years of experience, Dr. Kurtz’s combines analytical, experimental, and clinical approaches in evaluating medical technologies. Dr. Kurtz is also the founder and CEO of Gyroid LLC, a scientific and technical consulting startup.

Michael McCormick is a seasoned executive with over 30 years of experience in the medical device industry. He is currently the President and CEO of Osprey Medical. Previously, he served as President and CEO of Anulex Technologies, Inc., and President of Centerpulse Spine-Tech, which was acquired by Zimmer for $3.2 billion.

Mike has held leadership roles in both public and private medical device companies and has extensive sales experience from his tenures at Boston Scientific’s Cardiovascular Division (SCIMED) and Baxter Healthcare. He holds a BBA from the University of Texas at Austin and is an active board member at Formae, Inc.

Rich McCorry is a powerhouse Global Operating Executive with extensive experience in industrial standards, regulations, and requirements. He has held leadership roles such as President of SSI Sintered Specialties, Production Spring, and H.C. Starck, Inc., as well as Global CEO of GKN Sinter Metals.

With over 19 years of P&L success across 30 countries, Rich excels in restructuring, turnaround, and transformation. He effectively leads multi-cultural teams to achieve corporate goals and is a skilled negotiator in client agreements, M&A contracts, and collective bargaining. His expertise spans multiple industries, including automotive, aerospace, defense, industrial, electronic, and medical businesses.

Michael P. Simpson is a seasoned executive with a strong background in the orthopedics industry. He has served as President and CEO of Knee Creations, LLC (acquired by Zimmer) and as President of Small Bone Innovations, LLC (acquired by Stryker) and Synthes Maxillofacial.

Noted for his track record at Orthofix, Michael managed the global development and distribution of a $575 million product portfolio, including foot and ankle technologies, with full P&L responsibility. His expertise in extremities implant markets and evidence-based medicine makes him a highly qualified leader in pain elimination and joint preservation.

Dr. Howell is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with 38 years of clinical and research experience, specializing in total knee arthroplasty (TKA), ACL reconstruction, and meniscal surgery. Practicing in Sacramento and Lodi, he joined Adventist Health Lodi Memorial with a distinguished career in developing innovative surgical techniques like kinematic alignment for total knee replacement.

Dr. Howell is an adjunct professor at UC Davis, where his collaborative research has led to over 120 scientific publications. He completed his medical degree at Northwestern University and his orthopedic residency at Thomas Jefferson University. A retired military professional, Dr. Howell has trained physicians globally.

Nicholas DiNubile, M.D.

BOARD MEMBER

Dr. Nicholas DiNubile is a renowned orthopedic surgeon with over 35 years of clinical experience in cartilage knee joint restoration and arthroscopy. He serves as Chief Medical Officer of Premier Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine, overseeing approximately 90 orthopedic physicians, and has a CMO relationship with HopCo, managing multiple prominent orthopedic groups nationally. Dr. Nick practices in Havertown, PA, specializing in knee disorders and surgery.

Dr. DiNubile has advised two U.S. Presidents on health policy and has been a team physician for the Philadelphia 76ers. Recognized in “Best Doctors in America” and “Guide to America’s Top Surgeons,” he is also a best-selling author of the FrameWork series and the Executive Producer and host of the award-winning PBS special, Your Body’s FrameWork. Dr. DiNubile trained in orthopedic surgery at the University of Pennsylvania, where he served as a Clinical Assistant Professor.
